1 • World Drug Report

2007 World Drug Report is a great work of The United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
"The World Drug Report presents the most comprehensive statistical view of today's illicit drug situation. This year's edition reports signs of long-term containment of the global problem. (...) The World Drug Report 2007 also discusses a possible method to better assess and monitor the role played by organized crime in transnational drug trafficking."

2 • U.S. drug abuse statistics

SAMHSA's Office of Applied Studies – http://www.oas.samhsa.gov/ – provides large amounts of up to date data about substance abuse in US. It includes alcohol, tobacco, marijuana and drugs. Statistics also deal with national treatment system and 'drug related emergency department episodes'.
